I am a small Bristol based photographer who specializes in telling stories through my work, i have a great love for bringing light to the parts of life that are often not shown in art.

What drew you to this style of photography

i have always loved photography and being queer i often felt ostracized and struggled with fitting in. after becoming more active in the local queer community i felt accepted and comfortable for the first time in a while and began using photography to celebrate the community that made me feel so safe and from there the passion grew!

where do i see myself going

it'd love to be able to pursue my passion full time. making photobooks that explore the themes i am passionate about. i would also love to work on helping other people's visions come to life both with my photography style but also in their style.

Why VenusPhotography

I wanted to focus on the raw and often unspoken parts of life and show the beauty and truth in them so I chose to pay homage to Venus the Roman goddess of love beauty and prosperity and began thinking about the dual meanings of venus such as the plant the venus flytrap and how they represent a sharper edge to the beauty of nature which i felt fit my style of photography well so i decided to combine the two into my branding using the Birth of Venus as the inspiration for my logo combining the seashell with the venus flytrap.

Nikon DSLR D3400 This is my primary camera and is the one i use for general shoots as it has a great versatility and a crisp clear graphics that allows for the capturing of fine details making it the perfect companion for my photography.	Kodak PIXPRO A2252 This is a smaller more mobile digital camera that alows for me to have a secondary camera set to specific settings allowing for me to quick switch without risking losing time switching my settings.	FUJIFILM Instax mini 11 This is my insta-print camera allowing for me to give clients instant results directly into their hands nbut also allows for me to make an instant prop that allows for an organic use of frame within frame photography.
PENTAX MZ-5n This is my film camera that takes longer to develope and for the results to reach clients or my books but the results have finish that creates a certain charm to the final piece	AGFAPHOTO Realimove CC2700 digital video camera2 163944 This camera is primarily used by me to capture the most minute movements as the video will capture the full action and in my editing software i can go through frame by frame to capture the perfect shot no matter how fast the motion.	RED5 Water Proof Action Camera This camera is used similarly to the previouse one as water tends to be unpredictable when it comes to photography so i find the best way is to use a video camera and go through frame by frame till i find the frame.
Sony Cyber-Shot this camera is mainly used by me in enviroments like bars and nightclubs where the border fuzz adds to the image creating this memory effect that can contribute to the meaning behind the image if implimaneted correctly	Casio EX-Z50 i primarily use this camera for the strong warm tones it brings and primarily for photos meant to feel happy often group pictures due to the clear framing the camera provides	Nikon COOLPIX this camera is used ot creat an image that looks liek it is from the early 2000's-2010's as that is the age of the camera this allows for a classic look thta matches many styles and creates a warm nostalgia.
